My first venture into music and kind of (re)mixing. This home-brew remix was inspired by a cover version of 'Clean', performed by a Greek band/project called 'Carpe Diem'. The original piece was published in 2005 on the Depeche Mode tribute album "Around the world an back", initiated by the Greek Hysterika fan club. The song's moody sound caught my heart instantly, a soundscape which reminds much of Alan Wilder works under the 'Recoil' label. But unfortunately, this cover is a more or less instrumental piece, it lacks some "beef". "Sometimes all one wishes is for everything to drop away, even one's own thoughts." - A PERSON Dear whoever, Perhaps you can attain this particular mental state with ease, or perhaps you have to wait for it to creep upon you. Perhaps it never happens to you at all, or perhaps Mirrors have recently collaborated with film-maker Simon Pollard to create an audio-visual work entitled ...Of The Night And The Light And The Half-Light. This very short film is intended to be watched on a full screen, with the lights off and the volume high. Inspired by the weightless feeling of calm deathly serenity on the edges of consciousness and unconsciousness, thought and non-thought, sleep and dream, and the weird tidal drag that fluctuates between these states, this film might be a way to wash clean your burned and raked-over, tired and aching, information pounded mind. Or perhaps not. Either way, Mirrors care only that you watch it, properly, as described, with the lights off and the volume high. Author: m1rrors Duration: 4:40
