Depeche Mode (vs. Carpe Diem) +++ Clean (Dizzyfugu's 'Vampire Mix')

My first venture into music and kind of (re)mixing. This home-brew remix was inspired by a cover version of 'Clean', performed by a Greek band/project called 'Carpe Diem'. The original piece was published in 2005 on the Depeche Mode tribute album "Around the world an back", initiated by the Greek Hysterika fan club. The song's moody sound caught my heart instantly, a soundscape which reminds much of Alan Wilder works under the 'Recoil' label. But unfortunately, this cover is a more or less instrumental piece, it lacks some "beef". Later I also came across an extended version of Carpe Diem's 'Clean' (called 'Cleanest Version', almost 10 min. long!), and then it clicked: Why not merge that great sound with some (original) vocals and create by myself what I have been missing? SHIVASOUNDSYSTEM::::: Shiva Soundsystem is a collective, record label and event host based in east London. Shiva Soundsystem grew out of the Asian Underground scene in London and went on to become more associated with other styles including Drum & Bass and Electronica. Formed by DJ and broadcaster Nerm out of musicians performing on his DJ sets,, it evolved into a band, including early appearances of Foreign Beggars frontman Orifice Vulgatron and Prash Mistry from Engine Earz. It then developed into a sprawling collective of artists with a large warehouse HQ in Hackney. Shortly thereafter, BREED released an original EP on High Chai Recordings called "Sound Killer," of which both tracks appeared in the Beatport dubstep charts yet again!
