The Dignity of Labour - Common (Demo Instrumental)

The Dignity of Labour - Common (Demo Instrumental)Song that was performed during TDOL's later shows. This was the video used as the backdrop. It was cobbled together using various rough 30-second video clips recorded on an old Nikon 995. Someday a proper vocal version of this song will be recorded, but for now - enjoy. More TDOL stuff can be downloaded at conifer-enviro.com/downloads. Lyrics: When I look into the mirror Am I staring at myself In the way that you perceive me Or am I someone else? Deep inside I'm just an echo Another blind facsimile Imitating your reflection In a light that you can't see I'm common I'm regular And I wear the same shoes as you And I breathe the same air as you I'm common I'm regular And I shed the same tears as you And I cut the same way I bleed the same as you I'm not indestructible I am naked, I can crawl Ordinary to be treated in this way Fascinated in the words you say Take my hand, it's so familiar Nothing alien or strange Reaching out for your connection in a world we cannot change I'm common I'm regular And I wear the same shoes as you And I breathe the same air as you And I fall the same way I deviate the same as you And I wear the same shoes as you And I breathe the same air as you And I beg the same joy as you And I feel the same pain as you And I shed the same tears as you And I fall the same way as you And I cut the same way I bleed the same as you
