Previously I had a set of Alpine Type-R components which I was fairly pleased with...I had heard good things about CDT audio so I thought I'd give them a try...WOW what a difference! Not only did these have an overall more pleasant tonal quality but these are impressively detailed. There were a number of sounds/instruments in songs (especially in detailed music like Depeche Mode) that were completely non-existent on the Alpines but came through loud and clear on the CDT's. I was truly amazed to hear musical elements in songs that I didn't even know existed. On top of that, these speakers are excellent when it comes to "separation"...what I mean is that you can hear sounds/instruments/voices as feeling very separate and not all mushing together. Another thing I like is that there is no listening-fatigue. Many highly-detailed tweeters can start to "wear" on your ears and after a decent amount of listening time will start to become obnoxious. But the CDT's have such a smooth sound that you can literally listen to them for hours without your ears being bothered. I have been sold on CDT for a while now...I've had a pair of coaxials and 2 sets of components and have very pleased with all them. I have also recommended them to friends who have also found them to be very impressive. To get the most out of these speakers, pair them with a quality 4-channel amp; you will truly be amazed."
